South Africa’s Temba Bavuma recalls watching Rohit Sharma in the 2007 T20 World Cup as India gear up for the 2nd ODI in Raipur. Series poised after India’s first win.
South Africa captain Temba Bavuma addresses the media ahead of the 2nd ODI, recalling Rohit Sharma’s 2007 T20 World Cup days.

The leader of South Africa, Temba Bavuma, reflected on the past before the second ODI against India at Raipur on Wednesday, December 3. Bavuma, who was not present for the day of the opening contest, announced his total fitness and will be up for selection.
Bavuma in the press conference held on the previous Tuesday pointed that the Indian side has become even more beastly with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in the fold. On the other hand, he said that the South Africa side is already aware of the difficulties created by the superstars.
He recounted that he used to see Rohit Sharma's performances during the 2007 T20 World Cup when he was still a school boy. Rohit was part of the Indian squad that ultimately won the title that year.
“Both Kohli and Rohit are world-class players. We have had many face-offs with them. There have been times when we have had the upper hand. All this makes the rivalry even more interesting,” Bavuma said.
As it stands, India is leading 1-0 in the three-match series following their victory in the first ODI by 17 runs. The team that was lead by Virat Kohli had his contribution with an outstanding 135 runs while Rohit Sharma supported with a solid 57 runs. The Indian team will rally through the crowd to finish the series in Raipur.
This will be India’s second ODI at Raipur where they have previously played a very convincing game.
